My Story

Dr. Raymond Hopkins is an aerospace/defense leader and a former employee of The Boeing Company,  manufacturer of the AH-64D Longbow Apache Helicopter, used in defending the United States and its allies around the globe. While employed by McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Company (acquired by The Boeing Company), he worked as an international purchasing agent and later as a government and international contracts manager. Before employment at Boeing, he worked in procurement at U.S. Borax & Chemical and Fluor Engineers, a petrochemical construction company.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Southern California, he graduated from California State University, Fullerton, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. While employed, he further earned a Master of Science degree in public administration from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Hopkins has delivered undergraduate and graduate courses in international business and marketing. He is a member of Sigma Beta Delta National Honor Society in Business and Management and has published academic conference papers, marketing journal articles, and books.

Dr. Hopkins received the Emerald Literati Network 2010 Outstanding Paper Award, the 1998 U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Life Cycle Cost Reduction Award, and the department’s 1999 Single Process Initiative Individual Recognition Award in 1999.

Raymond’s professional journey includes roles in global aerospace, defense, and commercial sectors, representing the company doing business with the U.S. Government and international customers in South Korea, Japan, Colombia, Denmark, and the United Kingdom.  He has authored multiple books on exporting and international business expansion, offering practical insights and actionable tools for entrepreneurs looking to thrive in cross-border business.
